Director of Religious Education Search

amy-peterson-derrickIntroducing our incoming Director of Religious Education

We are delighted to share the good news of hiring a Director of Religious Education to begin this summer!  Amy Peterson Derrick comes to us from serving as Professional Lifespan Religious Educator for 10 years at the Unitarian Universalist congregation of Flint, Michigan.  About her calling and her life, she writes:

Working Together…

“Creating an environment conducive to growing and nurturing an intentionally multigenerational UU community has always been my top priority.  Working together with an intentional, religious community to provide children and youth opportunities to explore and grow in our UU faith is quite possibly the best job in the world, and I am looking forward with great excitement to walk this path with such a vibrant community whose purpose so perfectly speaks to the work of UU Religious Education : ‘to grow souls to serve the world.’

Faith & Family…

“I find our UU faith when engaged in advocacy work, walking (or running!) in nature, gardening and in spending time with my husband, Mark, and our two amazing, budding UUs: Alexandra, age 6 and Lennon, age 4. I can’t wait to make new discoveries and to grow and serve alongside all of you at WBUUC!

We look forward to warmly welcoming Amy to our ministry team this summer, with plenty of chances for her to introduce herself and become part of this community.  In gratitude for the years of dedication from Janet Hanson, we are hopeful for our strong program to continue to thrive for years to come.  Welcome, Amy!
