There’s the cunning of the global market economy, upon which we all depend and in which we are all inextricably complicit –
and there is the wisdom of the commonwealth, which teaches a different economics, an older interdependency.
We live within them both.
By our own work and by our abject need for the good work, well done, of other people,
we are bound in solidarity each to each and each to all.
