Forgiveness is not about cheap grace,
pious platitudes or letting people off the hook
for injuries and damage that can never be repaired
and can’t ever be condoned.
It’s never really possible,
and hardly ever wise, to “forgive and forget,”
though to forgive and then move on,
to forgive and then live on, shine on,
even though everything’s remembered –
that is a mighty and glorious thing,
