Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education
Our Whole Lives (OWL) takes a lifespan, holistic view of sexuality. It provides accurate, age-appropriate information while helping people clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. OWL is based on the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education produced by the National Guidelines Task Force, a group of leading health, education, and sexuality professionals assembled by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS).
Currently, we offer classes for the following ages:
7th-9th Grades
OWL models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. It helps adolescents address their attitudes, values, and This curriculum, led by trained facilitators, recognizes sexuality education as a lifelong process of acquiring information and forming attitudes and values about identity, intimacy, relationships, and sexual health. The program also recognizes that sexuality education begins at home and continues through open, honest communication between caregivers and children. The aim of OWL is to provide resources to help parents and caregivers talk about sexuality with their children. Parent Orientation is required for OWL in order to introduce the curriculum and to answer questions about the program.
Parent and Caregiver Orientation: Sunday, November 1st from 12:30-2:30 pm
All workshops run from 11:00am-12:30pm. From the dates below, one Sunday (either a Spring Break or holiday weekend) will be removed from the final workshop list. Participants are asked to maintain regular attendance and once the course has started drop-ins are not permitted.
