Here Comes the Sun Book Discussion: Join the Climate Action Committee tonight for a discussion of Bill McKibben’s book, "Here Comes the Sun." It highlights solar and wind power as solutions to the climate crisis. McKibben wrote in an essay this week that solar panels are the new peace symbol, saying, “sunshine is free.” Share your ideas on how the U.S. can move towards a peaceful, sustainable planet.
About the evening’s programming: Precinct caucuses are local, grassroots meetings run by Minnesota’s political parties. Attendees discuss issues, choose delegates for higher-level party conventions and can influence party platforms. Join long-time WBUUC member Dick Ottman who can answer all your questions and give you the confidence to attend a caucus and become a delegate yourself.

Learn about Tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): The Black Student Union (BSU) at White Bear Lake Area Schools has sponsored several tours to HBCUs and plans another for April. Our speaker, BSU’s advisor Aaron Turner, initiated these tours and has accompanied the students. Learn how these trips can open doors and help students envision themselves as future leaders.

About the presentation: Want to help our immigrant neighbors? The members of the Refugee and Immigrant Assistance Committee (RIAC) can share their experiences. The committee has been helping immigrants and trans folx for the past several years. They will also suggest organizations that need help.
